Hi,
How to block airplane noise? Has anyone tried custom-molded ear plugs for sleeping that would be ordered from an audiologist? The material options are silicone or vinyl. Do they have an odor or cause skin reactions? Thanks!

Of these two options for materials, silicone would be safer by far over vinyl.

I did end up getting the custom-made silicone ear plugs. I’ll have to go back to the audiologist and see if the fit is off, but after speaking with the manufacturer these really won’t block out the sounds that are problematic for me. The Flents latex-free foam provide more sound reduction in my situation.

My husband has several sets of custom made, silicone, molded ear plugs done by his audiologist. He loves them. They are much better for protecting your ears and blocking sound than anything else he’s found.
Both he and I have no problem with the silicone. He’s had them for years now.
