Is nylon toxic?

Nylon is made from petroleum but, in its pure form, it is one of the safest plastics. The problem with nylon and many other plastics is that they may contain additives for additional functionality. For example, nylon fabric may be treated with highly fluorinated chemicals (PFASs) to make it waterproof.
So i take it unless its PFAS free then we shouldnt trust it to be good nylon?
Read this week’s post on why this is difficult to answer. Look for Nylon that is free of PFASs and antimicrobials.
